Center of Excellence Application Process

• In December, 2007 all Pinellas County High School Principals  received an application for designation as a Pre-Center of Excellence.  
  
  
• Completed applications were submitted to the Office of Workforce Education for review in January, 2008.
  
  
• Pre-Center applications were reviewed by WorkNet Pinellas' Business Economic Opportunity Development Committee in March, 2008, and sixteen programs were recommended for consideration to the full WorkNet Pinellas Board of Directors. 
  
  
•  In late March 2008, Board of Directors at WorkNet Pinellas formally approved sixteen programs as Pre- Centers of Excellence.
  
  
• In September 2008 four programs were named Centers of Excellence for 2008 - 2009:
  
      East Lake - Engineering
      Dunedin - Architecture/ Building Technologies
      Northeast - Finance
      Pinellas Park - Criminal Justice
